Meeting Donna Hay

What a great day this was! My favourite chef came all the way from Australia to London to launch her cookbooks and Royal Doulton range, and I was there to see her. Donna did a wonderful cooking demonstration from her Seasons cookbook, a stylish Waldorf salad and a maple pear tarte tatin. It was great to see her in action. Donna’s dishes are simple, easy, fresh and delicious. She was so approachable, down to earth and easy to talk to. I got my cookbook signed and my photograph taken with her. I also fell in love with her Royal Doulton range. I only bought the beautiful colander and medium-sized cake stand. I was encouraged to get Donna to sign my cake stand so I did. Donna had a special china pen in Donna Hay blue. She told me it was the first time she was using it, so I felt honoured. I used the cake stand for the first time yesterday and I had to lift it up to show off he signature. I mean how often do you get something personally signed by the designer themselves?

I still have my eye on her large cake stand and glass dome!

They are on my wish list!

Keep your eyes open for Donna’s cookbooks. I have seen them in book shops and online. I highly recommend them.
