March Photo Food Challenge

March has been a great month with great food photos. Taking a photo a day proved more challenging than I expected, as some days I could easily take 3 or 4 photos and other days I struggled to take one – left over days! But when I look back on these 31 photos I smile, as all of them bring back happy memories. I still am in love with Instagram and will continue to take photos of food but this challenge has come to an end. Here is a quick run down of the 31 days and 31 photos.

Day 1: This was what I found inside a jar of Australian Veggiemite. I quite like the idea of a picture in the lid. I wonder if all jars contain emus or if each jar differs?

Day 2: Fruit, a delicious mid morning snack and the photo was also part of Fatmumslim‘s March Photo a day challenge.

Day 3: Meringues! What else do you do with left over egg whites?

Day 4:  The best choc-chip cookie dough!

Day 5: Yummy choc-fudge-chip cookies!

Day 6: Cookies ready to be given to special friends.

Day 7: The most amazing risotto from Donna Hay’s Simple Dinners cook book!

Day 8: Stir-fry made by a friends husband, who was very excited to make the blog!

Day 9: A quick snack, cereal. I was craving chocolate and this was the closest I could get.

Day 10: Butternut soup for lunch.

Day 11: Chocolate moose, another Donna Hay recipe!

Day 12: This photo is a mistake, it did not actually appear in the challenge, but that can happen when you take so many food photos! It is of the meringue cake top!

Day 13: The remains of the chocolate moose meringue cake!

Day 14: Delicious chicken pie made by a friend, revelling her amazing cooking talent.

Day 15: Mum’s pasta made by me! Salmon, spinach and phili! Good comfort food!

Day 16: Oodles of noodles! Dinner made by a friend.

Day 17: Chocolate box shared with friends.

Day 18: Hummingbird Bakery in London! Sadly I only walked past and could not go in, but I will return shortly!

Day 19: Mini dim sum!

Day 20: Sweetheart sweets at a wedding party.

Day 21: Digging in the school garden I found the worlds smallest potato. It was the size of a thumb nail.

Day 22: Chocolate mini eggs!

Day 23: Chocolate covered raisins, a secret love of mine!

Day 24: The lid says it all! It was a beautiful hot day, which felt like summer and everyone was talking about ice cream, so I had to go buy some.

Day 25: Delicious Pizza from Strada!

Day 26: Lemon lemon lemonade! So refreshing on a beautiful spring day!

Day 27: Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Ice cream! Mid week treat!

Day 28: Delicious chocolate brownie and cookie, which was my dessert on a garden course I attended.

Day 29: A cup of mini eggs to get me through the day, from my colleague.

Day 30: A Easter gift from one of my students. A little chocolate cake.

Day 31: A perfect day to end the food month challenge! Meeting Donna Hay! Such an honour!

This photo was meant to appear on this post but I made a mistake. It appears on the Instagram challenge. A before and after shot of breakfast, so I thought I’d just add it at the bottom.

Happy cooking!
