Green Thumb

Baking I can do. Cooking I can do. Gardening…I was not so sure about. But I found these fantastic ‘grow your own herbs’ kit and just had to try it. I was so tired of every time I needed basil there was non in the shops! I can’t begin to tell you the number of times I decided to make something only to find the shops were out of sage or rosemary or chives. This was the driving force to trying to grow my own. These yogurt pots came with every thing from soil to seeds. All I had to do was plant, water and wait. I was so excited. I felt like a child waiting for a special guest to arrive(Do you remember the feeling?  You keep rushing to the window to see if they are there.) Well I kept rushing to the window to see if my plants had sprouted. I was so excited when their little green heads started to poke through the soil!

I now have my own chives and basil and I can’t wait to plant and grown more herbs. It is so fulfilling. I feel pleased that not only have I inherited my mothers talents in the kitchen but maybe I have her green thumbs too. (I think I am getting way ahead of myself here, I have a far way to go before I am a patch on my mum’s veggie patch)
